Welcome to Hekki Maps! We respect your privacy and strive to provide you a safe and secure experience. This Privacy Policy applies to the Hekki Maps mobile application (the "App"), the website www.hekkimaps.com and associated services (collectively referred to as "Hekki Maps" or the "Services"). In this document we explain how we handle your personal information, how we use and share that information, and your choices concerning our data practices. Please also read our Terms Of Service (the "Terms Of Service") which sets out the terms governing the Services.

We reserve the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Any changes will be effective immediately on posting. If we make changes we deem to be material, we will provide a prominent notice either in the App or through other channels as appropriate. If you object to any part of this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the Services immediately and delete the App.
When you use Hekki Maps we may collect some information about you, including limited information that may in some cases directly or indirectly identify you. We receive information whenever you use the Services to browse content, interact with content or track your activities. For the most part this information is anonymized to the extent we are able to do so. Our business model is not based on selling data or monetizing ads so we are not interested in collecting any more information than necessary to provide the Services to you and others, or to maintain and improve the reliability and functionality of the Services.
Currently all subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store and we do not process any personal information you provided when signing up for the subscription. We do not have access to your name, contact information or payment card details.
Hekki Maps provides a high-resolution map with outdoor recreation routes and points of interest around you or anywhere in the world. Once you consent to sharing your location with the App we get access to your precision location information using the GPS and other sources of location available on your mobile device. We use this information for:
If you would like to stop sharing your location information with the App, you may do so at any time by going to the settings on your device and disabling location services for the App.
Hekki Maps may process limited, non-identifying technical information necessary to ensure the app functions correctly and reliably, such as performance metrics or error diagnostics. This information is used only to maintain and improve app stability and functionality. Some functionality is provided using third-party SDKs, which may process limited technical information solely to support app functionality.
We do not collect analytics data to measure user behavior, track feature usage for marketing purposes, or build user profiles.
We do not permit third-party SDKs to use this information for advertising or tracking purposes.
This technical information is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking across apps or websites.
We do not disclose your personal information to any advertising partners or ad networks, for advertising purposes.
If you are part of our Beta Program, your name and email address are stored for the purpose of distributing new application versions to you. Any feedback on the product you send to us will be shared with members of our product development team who will use it to improve the product. We may also contact you about your feedback using the contact details you shared with us. We do not share the feedback with any outside parties.
If we become involved in a business combination, securities offering, bankruptcy, reorganization, dissolution or other similar transaction, we may share or transfer your information in connection with such transaction.
We may preserve and share your information with third parties, including law enforcement, public or governmental agencies, or private litigants, within or outside your country of residence, if we determine that such disclosure is allowed by the law or reasonably necessary to comply with the law, including to respond to court orders, warrants, subpoenas, or other legal or regulatory process. We may also retain, preserve or disclose your information if we determine that this is reasonably necessary or appropriate to: (1) prevent any person from death or serious bodily injury; (2) to address issues of national security or other issues of public importance; (3) to prevent or detect violations of our Terms Of Service or fraud or abuse of Hekki Maps or its users; (4) to protect our operations or our property or other legal rights, including by disclosure to our legal counsel and other consultants and third parties in connection with actual or potential litigation.
Hekki Maps is not intended for, nor directed to, children under 16 years of age, or the age of majority in your province, territory or country. If you are below that age, do not use the App or any of the associated Services.

The Services are operated from the United States. If you are located outside of the United States and choose to use the Services or provide information to us, you acknowledge and understand that your information will be transferred to, processed and stored in the United States, as is necessary for the functioning of the Services and to perform the Terms Of Service. Furthermore, anytime the Services are used outside the United States some information will be transmitted via computer networks and service providers located outside of the United States.
We retain information as long as necessary to provide the Services to you and others, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information e.g. for tax, legal, accounting or other purposes. Information associated with your account will generally be kept until it is no longer necessary to provide the Services or until your account is deleted or becomes inactive. In making these determinations, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal information, the purposes for which the information is processed, whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and applicable legal requirements. In addition, we may retain information to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce the Terms Of Service and take other actions permitted by law.
Information that is no longer necessary to provide the Services may be anonymized and aggregated to understand overall usage trends and improve the reliability and functionality of Hekki Maps.
