Welcome to Hekki Maps! We respect your privacy and strive to provide you a safe and secure experience. This Privacy Policy applies to the Hekki Maps mobile application (the "App"), the website www.hekkimaps.com and associated services (collectively referred to as "Hekki Maps" or the "Services"). In this document we explain how we handle your personal information, how we use and share that information, and your choices concerning our data practices. Please also read our Terms Of Service (the "Terms Of Service") which sets out the terms governing the Services.

We reserve the right to modify or amend this Privacy Policy from time to time without notice. Any changes will be effective immediately on posting. If we make changes we deem to be material, we will provide a prominent notice either in the App or through other channels as appropriate. If you object to any part of this Privacy Policy, you should stop using the Services immediately and delete the App.
When you use Hekki Maps, we may process limited information necessary to provide and maintain the Services. Some of this information may in certain circumstances directly or indirectly identify you. Our business model is not based on selling personal information or monetizing advertising, and we seek to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the reliability and functionality of the Services.
Subscriptions are handled by the Apple App Store, and we do not process the personal information you provide to Apple when purchasing a subscription.
If you use a free evaluation, we process limited technical information necessary to provide the evaluation and determine its availability and duration. This information is used to operate the evaluation and prevent abuse of the service and is not used for advertising or to build a profile about you.
Hekki Maps provides a high-resolution map with outdoor recreation routes and points of interest around you or anywhere in the world. Once you consent to sharing your location with the App we get access to your precision location information using the GPS and other sources of location available on your mobile device. We use this information for:
Location data is used solely to provide app functionality such as map display, navigation, track recording, routing, and pace, progress, and travel-time calculations.
If you would like to stop sharing your location information with the App, you may do so at any time by going to the settings on your device and disabling location services for the App.
Hekki Maps may process limited, non-identifying technical information necessary to ensure the app functions correctly and reliably, such as performance metrics or error diagnostics. This information is used only to maintain and improve app stability and functionality. Some functionality is provided using third-party SDKs, which may process limited technical information solely to support app functionality.
We do not collect analytics data to measure how you use individual app features, track your activity for marketing purposes, or build user profiles. Limited technical information may be processed where necessary to operate the Services, including providing free evaluations, verifying access, preventing abuse, diagnosing errors, and maintaining service reliability.
We do not permit third-party SDKs to use this information for advertising or tracking purposes.
We do not use this technical information to identify you.
We do not disclose your personal information to any advertising partners or ad networks, for advertising purposes.
If you are part of our Beta Program, your name and email address are stored for the purpose of distributing new application versions to you. Any feedback on the product you send to us will be shared with members of our product development team who will use it to improve the product. We may also contact you about your feedback using the contact details you shared with us. We do not share the feedback with any outside parties.
If we become involved in a business combination, securities offering, bankruptcy, reorganization, dissolution or other similar transaction, we may share or transfer your information in connection with such transaction.
We may preserve and share your information with third parties, including law enforcement, public or governmental agencies, or private litigants, within or outside your country of residence, if we determine that such disclosure is allowed by the law or reasonably necessary to comply with the law, including to respond to court orders, warrants, subpoenas, or other legal or regulatory process. The Services are operated from the United States. If you are located outside of the United States and choose to use the Services or provide information to us, you acknowledge and understand that your information will be transferred to, processed and stored in the United States, as is necessary for the functioning of the Services and to perform the Terms Of Service. Furthermore, anytime the Services are used outside the United States some information will be transmitted via computer networks and service providers located outside of the United States.
We retain information as long as necessary to provide the Services to you and others, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information e.g. for tax, legal, accounting or other purposes. Information associated with your use of the Services will generally be kept until it is no longer necessary to provide the Services.
